01 to 02 days Thattekkad Birding Tour
Featuring Thattekkad & stay at the Home Stay on the banks of the river Periyar.
Day 01: Dr Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, Thattekkad
Arrive Thattekkad. Meet up with our guide. One should sight the Whitebellied Treepie, Rufous Babbler, Crimsonbacked Sunbird, White Bellied Blue Flycatcher, Wayanad Laughing Thrush, Malabar Parakeet, Malabar Grey Hornbill besides owls like the Mottled Wood Owl, Oriental Bay Owl, Oriental scopes owl, Brown Fish Owl, Oriental Scopes Owl and Spotbellied Eagle Owl. You should also be able to sight the Red Spurfowl, Grey Jungle Fowl, Indian Pitta, Black-throated Munia and the Grey headed fishing eagle. Stay will be at the Home Stay in the middle of the forest, on the banks of the river.
Day 02: Thattekkad: We will continue with our birding at Urulanthanni, Signal station, Edamalayar Dam & its surrounding areas. We will also cover all the distinct eco-systems of Thattekkad - evergreen, dry deciduous, grasslands, riverine and the marshy lands during our birding trip. At night we will proceed for a stint of night birding for the nightjars.
Day 03: Kochi: After an early morning stint of birding our the camp, then go to Bhoothathankettu Dam and Ayyappanmudi, we will depart for Kochi after breakfast. TOUR ENDS.
Package Cost : Rs.10600/-
Package Include: Room rent with breakfast & Dinner on fixed menu basis. All transfers, sightseeing, & long distance travel as mentioned in the itinerary. Airport or railway stations pick up & drop. Parking, toll and guide allowance. Check in /check out time at the hotel is 12 noon.
Terms and Conditions: Minimum 1or 2 persons is mandatory for the package with transportation in an Ambassador / Indica car and with a maximum of 3 persons. And minimum 4 persons are mandatory for the package with transportation in a Qualis and with a maximum of 6 persons. Regular category of rooms is provided at all our properties. Packages can be modified according to the requirement of the customers. After the package is started, no alterations can be made for the itinerary. BIRD WATCHING IN KUMARAKAM BIRD SANCTUARY

Kumarakam bird sanctuary – The village of kumarakam is a cluster of little islands on the vembanad lake, and is part of the kuttanad region. The bird sanctuary here, which is spread across 14 acres is a favourite haunt of migratory birds and an ornithologist’s paradise.
The best time to watch birds : Between June and August. (Migratory birds: November – February)
Day - 01
Pick up in Airport / Railway station / Bus station to proceed to Kumarakam.
Check in to Kumarakom Lake Resort/Abad Lake Resort/Pearl Regency in kumarakam.
Day at leisure night halt at hotel.
Day – 02
Early morning visiting to Bird Sanctuary with a guide.
Afternoon boating in vembanad lake. Night halt at resort.
Day - 03
After breakfast check out from the Resort and proceed to Airport / Railway station.
